Answer: Before the interview proper begins, it is important that the client is welcomed and made to feel comfortable. In this instance, the lawyer did meet the client at the door and he greeted her by name. He was friendly and offered the client a seat, however he failed to introduce himself or state his position within the firm. Although the lawyer gave his business card at the end of the interview, it may have been a good idea to do so at this stage. It can be slipped quietly to the client and at least satisfies, to some extent, the requirement for informing the client of his name and status.......(short extract)
