Answer: The Latin maxim concerns the third dimension of land. It is also know as the ad coelom doctrine. This doctrine was first mentioned in the 13th century and it is to no surprise that is of little practical significance today. However, it would be counterintuitive to suggest that is of no significance whatsoever. This paper will attempt to break down the maxim into four relevant components. The first would be concerning rights on the land, the second, concerning rights below the land, the third concerning rights attached to the land and fourthly, concerning rights above the land.
