Answer: The basic defintion of theft as defined in the Theft Act 1968 states that, A person shall be guilty of theft if he dishonestly appropriates property belonging to another with the intention of permanently depriving the other of it. s 1(1) of the Theft Act 1968 On the other hand a person who appropriates property belonging to another shall not be considered dishonest in a number of circumstances. Namely, if there was a belief that they had in law the right to appropriate it, would have had the owners consent or the owner was undiscoverable. (s 2(1) of the Theft Act 1968)......(short extract)
